As noted in our article “Three Key Steps to Get Your School Ready for Fundraising in 2017”, some of the most attractive incentives are linked to one-of-a-kind events.
You can compile a list of local events that are particularly relevant to your school community, but here are some NZ events that you might be able to leverage to support your activities:
2017 is Election Year and as a result local MPs will be willing to go the extra mile to get noticed and connect with constituents. You may be able to entice an MP to become involved in a fundraising event. Alternatively, if your school is near a polling booth, you may be able to take advantage of foot traffic on the day with stalls or even a school fair. Just be sure to observe relevant electoral law related to activity near polling stations.
In March 2017, the British government is planning to begin the two-year process of formally extracting itself from the European Community.
That might provide the opportunity for a market day linked to British-themed produce and art.
Several major artists have already been announced as coming to New Zealand in 2017, including:
- Bruce Springsteen (February)
- Adele (March)
- Justin Bieber (March)
